I originally was licensed and granted the call sign of KC4HFH in 1988 as a novice class operator while stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In 1989 I upgraded my license too a general class operator and maintained the call sign KC4HFH. In 1989 the US Army transferred me to the Federal Republic of Germany where I was granted the reciprocal call DA1AD. I operated as DA1AD from 1990 through 1994 while stationed in the Federal Republic of Germany and was mainly active with packet radio.
Unfortunately, I allowed KC4HFH too lapse in 1999 and in 2007 was once again bitten by the bug to be involved with this great hobby. Successfully passing the general class operator test in December of 2007 I was issued the call sign KB1PSX. In October of 2008 I applied for and was granted my vanity call sign of K1AJD.
I have met many, many good ambassadors of this hobby since December of 2007 it is always a pleasure when meeting such fine, interesting amateur radio operators. I do enjoy the service aspect of the hobby and have become involved with several SSB and CW nets.
Since rejoining the hobby I have become a member of SKCC, #4096, and still have the Ten-Ten #50799 that was issued to me back in 1989.
